Measurement Locations Editor

Use the NI VMS Measurement Locations Editor to specify test patterns' timing locations in video lines (their "horizontal locations") in measurement location files (.loc) files. You can define multiple locations of different test elements in a test matrix in one .loc file, but you must define a new .loc file whenever you want to measure a new test matrix or a test element whose video standard or timing information is different than what you've previously measured.

Refer to Specifying Locations for Test Signals for more information about locating test signals for measurement.

Notice that, except in a few instances, you do not need to enter information about a test element or signal other than its timing location(s). This is because test elements are standardized for each transmission standard (e.g., PAL, NTSC, etc.), so NI VMS is able to extrapolate information necessary for measuring the test element from the timing information you specify. Refer to Video Signals section for information about which video standards NI VMS supports and to Video Test Signals for information about standard test elements.
