SVPO Order Metrics for Periodic Inspection VI
Owning Palette: Embedded Monitoring VIs
Requires: Sound and Vibration Toolkit
Computes the metrics of designated orders in an even-angle signal, such as magnitudes, phases, speed, DC gap, RMS level, and max-min level. This VI calculates metrics values from the latest integration cycles of the even-angle signal. Use this VI on embedded targets that have limited computational resources. Wire data to the even-angle signal input to determine the polymorphic instance to use or manually select the instance.

reset? specifies the initialization of the internal states. The first time this VI runs, or when reset? is TRUE, the internal states initialize to zero. If reset? is FALSE, this VI sets the internal states to the final states from the previous call to the VI. The default is FALSE. You must manually set reset? to TRUE if integration cycles changes in a continuous measurement. You also need to set reset? to TRUE if the input values of the SVPO Analog Tacho Process VI and SVPO Convert to Even Angle Signal VI change in a continuous measurement.
![]() |
update? specifies whether this VI computes the order metrics. The default is TRUE. You can set update? programmatically so that this VI returns the metrics computation at a specific time interval.
![]() |
even-angle signal specifies the even-angle-resampled data. even-angled signal is synchronous to the rotational speed with a constant number of samples per revolution.
| ||||||||||||
![]() |
even-angle position info returns the position information of even-angle signal.
| ||||||||||||
![]() |
orders specifies the orders this VI uses to compute the metrics. The default is 1.0.
![]() |
integration cycles specifies the duration of the measurement in cycles. The default is 8. If the number of cycles in each iteration is smaller than integration cycles, the output metrics values are valid only when the number of passing cycles is greater than integration cycles. If the number of cycles in each iteration is greater than integration cycles, this VI calculates the output metrics values from the latest integration cycles.
![]() |
measurement selection specifies the order metrics to calculate. By default, this VI returns all the measurements in measurement selection. You can set some of the measurements that you do not need to FALSE to save computational resources.
| ||||||||||||
![]() |
speed [RPM] returns the averaged rotational speed in revolutions per minute.
![]() |
DC gap returns the value of the DC gap of the even-angle signal.
![]() |
RMS level returns the RMS level of the even-angle signal.
![]() |
max-min level returns the max-min level of the even-angle signal.
![]() |
magnitudes [RMS] returns the magnitudes, in RMS value, of the specified order.
![]() |
phase [phase lag] returns the wrapped radian phase, in phase lag value, of the specified order. |
