Before you begin this procedure, complete the following steps.
  1. Create a PXIe-657x interface using the Digital Pattern Editor and configure the interface using the Semiconductor Device Control Add-On.
  2. Open your Semiconductor Device Control Add-On project in a large panel and ensure that you configure a DIO channel for the PXIe-657x interface.

Complete the following steps to load the required DIO pins from the pin maps.

  1. Click Conf I/F to open the Hardware Configuration tab of the large panel.
  2. In the DIOs tab of the Configuration Mapping large panel section, click Sync With Pin Map.
  3. In the DIO Configuration window, configure the access permission settings and IO type for each pin.

The DIO Configuration window retains the access permission settings and IO type configuration for existing pins.

Note In the DIO Configuration window, select DIO pins only. Deselect protocol pins to avoid duplication if a protocol pin is connected to two different instruments at the same time.
Note In the DIO Configuration window, you can select and edit only the pins mapped to the resource name specified in Static Configuration.
    1. Select the Access checkbox to display required DIO pins in the Hardware Configuration and the Register Map tabs of the large panel.
    2. Specify the IO type.
  4. Click OK.

Specifying DIO Pin Functions

To perform a DIO operation, you must specify the function of each DIO pin after you add DIO pins.

Before you begin this procedure, open your Semiconductor Device Control Add-On project in a large panel.

Complete the following steps to specify DIO pin functions.

  1. Click Conf I/F to open the Hardware Configuration tab of the large panel.
  2. In the DIOs tab of the Configuration Mapping large panel section, specify the function of each DIO pin using the Function drop-down menu.

Editing DIO Pins

After loading DIO pins from a pin map, you can edit the DIO pins in the Hardware Configuration tab of the large panel.

Before you begin this procedure, open your Semiconductor Device Control Add-On project in a large panel.

Complete the following steps to specify DIO pin functions.

  1. Click Conf I/F to open the Hardware Configuration tab of the large panel.
  2. In the DIOs tab of the Configuration Mapping large panel section, click Edit DIO Config.
  3. In the DIO Configuration window, update the access permission settings and IO type of each pin as needed.
  4. Click OK to apply the edits.
