You can define the pulse shape using the following available parameters of the pulse0 section in the Pulse RFmx Waveform Creator.
- Pulse Envelope Type: Specifies pulse envelope type. You can
change the pulse0 details section based on the pulse envelope type you select. Each
pulse envelope type uses different pulse0 detail parameters.
The following table shows all supported pulse envelope types.
Trapezoidal Specifies a trapezoidal shaped envelope Raised Cosine Specifies a raised cosine-shaped envelope Custom Profile Specifies user-defined pulse profile data Custom IQ Specifies user-defined IQ pairs - Amplitude Reference Levels: Specifies the amplitude reference level. The timing parameters such as rise time, fall time, and width, are based on the amplitude reference level specified.
- Rise Time: Specifies the rise time. Rise time is defined as the time taken for the rising edge of the pulse to increase in amplitude from 0% to 100% and 10% to 90% amplitude for 0/100/100 and 10/50/90 Volts, 10/50/90 Watts amplitude reference levels, respectively. Valid values are from 0 to 1 second.
- Fall Time: Specifies the fall time. Fall time is defined as the time taken for the falling edge of the pulse to decrease in amplitude from 100% to 0% and 90% to 10% for 0/100/100 and 10/50/90 Volts, 10/50/90 Watts amplitude reference levels, respectively. Valid values are from 0 to 1 second.
- Width: Specifies the width. Width is defined as the ON time of the pulse specified from 100% to 100% and 50% to 50% for 0/100/100 and 10/50/90 Volts, 10/50/90 Watts amplitude reference levels, respectively. Valid values are from 0 to 1 second.
