The LTE channel power (CHP) measurement uses the configurations specified by 3GPP TS 36.521-1 specification. This topic explains the configurations used by the RFmx LTE CHP measurement.

The period of measurement for LTE CHP is at least the continuous duration of one sub-frame (1 ms) as defined in 3GPP TS 36.521-1 specification. Hence, when you set the Sweep Time Auto property to True, the sweep time is set to 1 ms for the LTE CHP measurement.

Refer to the CHP Overview topic for a general overview of CHP measurement concepts.

  • Single carrier—The power is measured over the integration bandwidth of the carrier.
  • Intra-band contiguous carrier aggregation—The power is measured over the integration bandwidth of the aggregated carrier and includes the inter-carrier gaps within the subblocks.
  • Intra-band noncontiguous carrier aggregation—The power is the sum of all powers.

CHP Integration Bandwidth Type

CHP integration bandwidth type specifies the integration bandwidth type used to measure the power of the acquired signal. Integration bandwidth is the frequency span over which power in each frequency bin is added to measure the total power in that span.

When you set the CHP IBW Type property to Signal Bandwidth, the IBW excludes the guard bands at the edges of the carrier or subblock. Signal bandwidth is used to calculate minimum output power as given in section 6.3.2 of 3GPP TS 36.521-1 specification.

When you set the CHP IBW Type property to Channel Bandwidth, the IBW includes the guard bands at the edges of the carrier or subblock. Channel bandwidth is used to calculate maximum output power as given in section 6.2.2 of 3GPP TS 36.521-1 specification.

NB-IoT Channel Power

To select Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) CHP, you can set CC Bandwidth property to 200.0 k in RFmx LTE CHP measurement.

The period of measurement for NB-IoT ACP is at least one sub-frame (1 ms) for 15 kHz channel spacing and at least a 2 ms slot (excluding the 2304Ts gap when user equipment (UE) is not transmitting) for 3.75 kHz channel spacing, as defined in section 6.6.2.3F.4 of 3GPP TS 36.521-1 specification. Hence, when you set the Sweep Time Auto property to true, the sweep time is set accordingly for the NB-IoT CHP measurement.

For NB-IoT CHP, signal bandwidth is used to calculate minimum output power as given in section 6.3.2F of 3GPP TS 36.521-1 specification.

For NB-IoT CHP, channel bandwidth is used to calculate maximum output power as given in section 6.2.2F of 3GPP TS 36.521-1 specification.
