NI-XNET State Models for Ethernet
The NI-XNET driver encompasses two state models: a model that governs the driver session and another model that governs the interface.
Most transitions between states occur automatically when you call NI-XNET Read or Write. However, you can perform a more specific transition using NI-XNET Start and Stop. If you invoke a transition that has already occurred, the transition does not repeat, and NI-XNET does not return an error.
