Setting up a Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output (MIMO) System with PXIe-5831 Modules
You can set up a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) system by using NI-RFSA and NI-RFSG to associate multiple PXIe-5831 modules, such as two PXIe-5820 Vector Signal Transceivers and two PXIe-3622 Vector Signal Up/Down Converters, all driven by one PXIe-5653 LO source.
Sharing one LO source among multiple PXIe-5831 instruments allows the RF signals to be phase coherent, which is necessary for MIMO system applications.
PXIe-5831 MIMO applications support the following features:
- LO sharing for phase coherency
- Homogeneous T-Clk synchronization for sample clock alignment
- RFmx single chain MIMO waveforms and measurements
- Trigger and marker alignment
- Phase continuous switching
