Use part numbers to purchase the cables and the accessories for optimizing the performance of PXIe-5699.

Note NI recommends installing PXI slot blockers to fill empty instrument slots in a PXI chassis and EMC filler panels to cover these slots.

PXI slot blockers Fills an empty instrument slot in a PXI chassis. Improves system cooling in PXI chassis by rerouting airflow from empty slots to slots containing PXI modules.

EMC filler panels Covers an empty instrument slot in a PXI chassis. Improves the cooling performance of the PXI system.

There are both standard and EMC filler panels. EMC filler panels contain additional gaskets to control EMC emissions from the chassis.

Cables

Notice Only use rated cables to connect to the PXIe-5699.
Note NI recommends against using a commercial HDMI specification interface cable.

To install the included intermodule cabling for PXIe-5699 instruments, you need either of the following accessories, which are not included in the PXIe-5699 kit:

  • 0.9 N · m (8 lb · in.) calibrated torque wrench, 5/16 in.
  • 100 N · cm calibrated torque screwdriver
Though the cables for intermodule connections are supplied with your instrument, cables to connect external equipment and DUTs to your PXIe-5699 instrument are not. NI recommends that the cables you use to connect to your PXIe-5699 instrument meet the following guidelines, depending on the connector type, to meet the RF performance requirements of your application:

Note Ensure that the SMA cable is rated to the frequencies you are using the cable for, and verify that the center pin length of the SMA connector on your cable does not exceed the center pin length of the 3.5 mm standard.
