Part Numbers for Recommended Cables and Accessories

Use part numbers to purchase the cables and accessories NI recommends to optimize the performance of PXIe-4133.

The following cabling options ensure fast rise time, low noise, and fast settling reverse bias when use for PXIe-4133 Force HI and Force LO connections. Cabling has a significant impact on PXIe-4133 performance in most applications. Use these recommended cables for best results.

Table 3. PXIe-4133 cable recommendations
Part Number Cable Length Cable Connector Description
785659-01 1 m TRB (triaxial BNC), 3-slot plug, 120 degree keying Low noise, low leakage, male triaxial to male triaxial cable
785659-03 3 m
Note Third-Party Cable Recommendations—Cable assemblies with Belden 9222 or Habia Cable RGT 400 triaxial cables will generally perform well when pulsing forward current but might exhibit sensitivity to noise and leakage during precise reverse current measurements.

Cabling Considerations

For best performance, take voltage measurements as close as possible to the DUT.

Cable inductance can cause large measurement or pulse output errors when generating narrow current pulses with fast slew rate. Parasitic capacitance between Force HI and Force LO connections may slow voltage breakdown measurements. Use the recommended triaxial cables to mitigate these considerations.

Sense connections may not require these recommended cables. However, parasitic capacitance between Sense HI and Sense LO connections can slow voltage breakdown measurements. Use the recommended triaxial cables to mitigate this consideration.
