Powering On/Off the MXI-Express Thunderbolt System
This chassis includes a feature to follow host power based on the Thunderbolt connection. The following table defines how to power on or off the chassis based on the connection to the host.

Power off the host. Press the power button > 4 s to initiate a forced shutdown. |
Note Causing a forced shutdown of the chassis may result in crashes or hangs if a DMA
transaction is active between the module installed in the PXIe-1083 and the host PC.
Note NI does not support hot-plugging/unplugging the Thunderbolt connection.

Observe the PXIe-1083 LED status where applicable. A properly connected and powered up system should report a valid link and power status once the host PC is powered on. Refer to LED Indicators for more information.
