The previous figure shows an example of signal connections for three typical digital I/O applications:
- Digital output is configured on port 0 to send TTL signals and drive external devices such as the LED.
- Digital input is configured on port 7 to:
- Receive TTL signals.
- Sense external device states such as the state of the switch.
