The NI 2810A/B (NI 2810) is a high-density matrix switch card for the NI SwitchBlock. The NI 2810 is designed for combination with other NI 2810 cards to create a customized NI SwitchBlock multicard device.
For certain applications, you may need to increase the default settling time. Refer to
Adding Additional Settling Time for more information about when the additional time is
needed.
Note Reed relays are highly susceptible to damage caused by
switching capacitive and inductive loads. Capacitive loads can cause high inrush
currents while inductive loads can cause high flyback voltages. The addition of
appropriate protection can greatly improve contact lifetime. For more information
about adding protection circuitry to a capacitive load refer to Reed Relay
Protection. For information about inductive loads refer to Protecting NI Switch
Products when Switching Inductive Loads.
Operation Modes
The following table lists the supported topology of the NI 2810 and possible operation modes. Refer to Initializing with Topology for NI SwitchBlock Devices for information about using the Configured Topology and NISWITCH_TOPOLOGY_CONFIGURED_TOPOLOGY software names.
Topology | Software Name | Immediate | Scanning |
---|---|---|---|
