Creating a RIO Alias for a VST Device
MAX allows you to create an alias for each VST device. The alias is used in the instrument design libraries to operate the hardware resources. You are not required to create a RIO alias, but doing so can make programming easier. VST devices appear as NI-RIO devices in MAX.
- Right-click the device name in the configuration tree.
- Select Rename Alias from the shortcut menu.
- Enter a new RIO alias for your NI-RIO device.
- Press <Enter>.
-
Verify that the new aliases for all of your device are displayed.
Notice When you install, uninstall, or move an NI-RIO device in your system, resource identification of your NI-RIO devices may change. Whenever any of these changes occur, verify resource identification of all your NI-RIO devices in MAX, and, if necessary, make changes to your software and documentation.
