Hardware Overview
The NI-iDDS Instrument Node system can be customized for your sensor needs with an array of I/O modules.
Notice A system and the
surrounding environment must meet the requirements defined in the specifications
documents for each hardware component. Refer to Related Documentation for
links to hardware documentation.
cRIO System Hardware Components
The cRIO system includes the following general hardware components.

| cRIO Controller |
The cRIO controller interfaces with the instruments
using NI device drivers, houses the system and supplies power,
communication, and timing/synchronization for the NI-iDDS Instrument
Node functions. Supported models:

| Counter Input Module |
The frequency module provides counter/timer
functionality for the system. Supported model: NI-9361 |
| Current Input Module |
The current input module performs analog input
measurements. Supported model: NI-9208 |
| Digital Input Module |
The digital input module features isolated digital
channels. Supported models:

| Digital Output Module |
The digital output module connects directly to
industrial switches, transducers, and devices. Supported models:

| RTD Input Module |
The RTD input module measures resistance temperature.
Supported model: NI-9216 |
| Thermocouple Input Module |
The thermocouple input module measures temperature.
Supported model: NI-9213 |
| Voltage Input Module |
The voltage input module performs analog input
measurements. Supported models:

| Cables and Accessories |
Cables and accessories not included in the hardware kits, that allow connectivity to/from the instruments for measurements and communication. |
