Interfacing Serial Devices to the RS232 Serial Port

To interface other serial devices to the RS232 serial port on the GPIB-RS232, first refer to the manual that came with your serial device to determine if the device is configured as a DTE or DCE. Also, determine from the manual how the control lines are used and whether they must be driven for the serial port to operate.

Note  The GPIB-RS232 serial port is configured to be a DTE.
