Using the cRIO I/O Device Control

Use the cRIO I/O Device to specify a cRIO I/O item on the block diagram.
To configure the cRIO I/O Device, right-click the Device and select Configure
I/O Type. The Configure I/O Type dialog box opens
to determine which methods and properties a cRIO I/O Device supports.
- To select a cRIO I/O item from the shortcut menu on the block diagram, click the arrow on the right side of the Device. A shortcut menu opens with items that appear in the Project Explorer window under the same target as the active VI.
- Specify an I/O item by clicking inside the cRIO I/O Device and typing the name of the I/O item.
- To enable the cRIO I/O Device to reference a cRIO I/O resource, add the I/O resource under the cRIO target in the Project Explorer window.
- When creating a reusable subVI, use the cRIO I/O control to specify a cRIO I/O item on the block diagram.
Configure I/O Type Dialog Box
Use this
dialog box to configure the specific data type of a cRIO I/O Device, such as the
supported methods and properties. This dialog box contains the following components:I/O Items—Lists all the cRIO I/O devices that you previously added to the project.
Select one of these I/O items as a model for the specific data type of
the I/O control.
I/O Item Type—Lists the methods and properties that the I/O item you select from the
I/O Items list supports.
Replace All—Copies all methods or properties from the I/O Item
Type list to the I/O Name Control
Type list.
I/O Item Type Details—Provides information about the method or property you select in the
I/O Item Type list.
I/O Name Control Type—Lists the methods and properties that the I/O control supports.
Remove—Removes unwanted methods or properties you select from the
I/O Name Control Type list.
I/O Name Control Type Details—Provides information about the method or property you select in the
I/O Name Control Type list.
