Step 1: Develop the Add-on Files (Third Party Licensing & Activation Toolkit)

This task is step 1 in the procedure for applying licensing to a development add-on.

The VIs that make up an add-on must be in a LabVIEW project library before you can license the add-on. Complete the following steps to package an add-on for licensing.

1. Create the VIs or other files that make up the add-on. Refer to the Related Links section to find more information about developing VIs in LabVIEW.
2. Create a LabVIEW project library (.lvlib), which becomes the packaged add-on.
3. Add the add-on files to the library.
4. Save the library.

Next Step: If you want to apply standard licensing, license the add-on. If you want to apply advanced, custom licensing, create a product definition for the add-on.
