Creating Mappings for National Instruments CAN Interfaces (Simulation Interface Toolkit)

Complete the following steps to create mappings between National Instruments CAN interfaces and a model DLL.

  1. Specify the model DLL and real-time (RT) target or the localhost.
  2. Click the Hardware I/O page of the SIT Connection Manager dialog box.
  3. Click the Configure HW I/O button.
  4. In the Configure HW I/O dialog box, complete the following steps to configure mappings between an NI-CAN device and a model DLL.
    1. Right-click the IP address or target name in the Device Tree and select Add Device»NI-CAN.
    2. Configure the NI-CAN device.
    3. Select the appropriate signal pairs in the Device Tree and the Model Tree and click the Add button.
    4. Click the OK button to exit the Configure HW I/O Mappings dialog box. The newly defined mappings appear in the Hardware Mappings table of the Hardware I/O page in the SIT Connection Manager.
    5. Click the OK button to exit the SIT Connection Manager and rebuild the host VI with the new mappings.
