Replacing the PXI Chassis Rear Fans
Note Use caution when removing the fan assembly to avoid damaging the internal wire
harness.
Equipment
- #2 Phillips screwdriver
- Power off the ECUTS.
- Open the rear cabinet door.
- Pull the spring pin attached to the inside hinge of the rear cabinet door down until it detaches from the test rack.
- Tilt and remove the rear cabinet door from the test rack.

Remove the eight #6-32 mounting screws and the #8-32 ground screw that attach
the fan panel to the chassis using the #2 Phillips screwdriver.

- Mounting Screws (x8)
- With the internal fan harness connected, pull and rotate the fan assembly out of the rear cavity of the chassis.

Disconnect the fan harness plug from the fan receptacle.

- Remove the PXI fan module assembly.
- Install the replacement PXI fan module assembly.
- Connect the fan harness plug to the fan receptacle.
- Screw in the eight #6-32 mounting screws and #8-32 ground screw to the rear of the chassis using the #2 Phillips screwdriver 1.3 N · m (11.5 lb · in.).
- Tilt and seat the rear cabinet door back in the test rack.
- Pull the spring pin attached to the inside hinge of the rear cabinet down and secure the pin back to the test rack.
- Close the rear cabinet door.
