Bus Configuration

Use this dialog box to edit or to create a configuration.

Settings

Name Specifies the name of the bus configuration. If you do not enter a name, DIAdem generates a name from the interface name, the cluster name, and the data base alias.
Alias Specifies the alias name of a database file.
Opens the dialog box where you select a data base. DIAdem supports the Vector CAN database format (*.dbc), the NI database format for NI-CAN (*.ncd), the Fibex database format (*.xml), the LIN file format (*.ldf), and AUTOSAR database files (*.arxml). AUTOSAR database file DIAdem supports CAN and CAN-FD formats but no LIN and FLEXRAY formats.
Cluster Specifies the network of the selected data base.
Edit Opens the NI-XNET database editor to edit a database.
NI-XNET Interface Specifies the name of the NI-XNET interface. For example, if the respective hardware is not installed on the computer, you can enter the name of the selected interface.
Termination Specifies whether to enable the bus termination for CAN or for LIN on the hardware.

If you use resistors as a termination on both ends of the network, you ensure a smooth functioning. The resistors can be either in the network plugs or on an NI-XNET network board.

Listen only Specifies whether the CAN only participates passively in the network protocol. If you enable this mode, the driver only monitors the network and the XNET driver cannot output data.
Transceiver Specifies the transceiver which is the physical coupling to the CAN network. You can select High Speed, Low Speed, and Single Wire.

Specify which transceiver to use for the plugin boards that have different receivers, such as the NI-XNET boards of the XS series. If the plugin board has only one transceiver, select the respective type.

Key slot ID Specifies the number of the frame which the driver outputs when the Flexray interface works as a Cold Start Node.

If you select the value 0, the Flexray interface does not work as a cold start node.

LIN-Schedule Specifies the name of the LIN schedule if the network node is working as a LIN master. An empty string indicates that the network node works as a LIN slave. In the Local Interconnect Network, the master requests the data from the slaves.
