Copying, Cutting, and Pasting in the Data Portal

To copy channels and channel groups, select these channels or channel groups. Then hold <Ctrl> and use the mouse to drag them to the desired position in the Data Portal. DIAdem inserts a copy of the channels and channel groups while preserving the original channels and channel groups.

Right-Click a Channel

Context menu item Meaning
Cut Cuts out the selected channel or channels to the clipboard.
Copy Copies the selected channel or channels to the clipboard.
Paste If the clipboard contains one or several channels, DIAdem inserts this channel or these channels below the selected channel. Note  When you copy and paste a calculation channel, DIAdem first deletes all calculated data, the unit and, if available, the xy relationship. When you update values in the Data Portal, DIAdem attempts to recalculate the values with the channels in the channel group and restore the xy relationship. This is only possible if the specified channels are available in the channel group. You can also update the formula channel with the RunCalculation method.
You can also copy channels and channel groups with the script interface for internal data. Use the Channels.AddChannel method to copy channels. Use the ChannelGroups.AddChannelGroup method to copy channel groups.
If you copy a channel group to the clipboard in the Data Portal and then insert the group in MS Excel, Excel only pastes the associated channels into the Excel worksheet. DIAdem always uses the dot as decimal separator. Make sure that the regional settings of your operating system support this.
