Filtering Groups and Channels in the Data Portal

Use filters to display only specific groups or channels in the Data Portal. Click Filter on the toolbar of the Data Portal to open the input area for filter conditions for groups and channels. To click the filter area, click Filter again. When the filter area is closed, the filter settings are not effective.

To define a filter, enter in the appropriate field the initial letters of the group names or channel names that you want to display in the Data Portal. The Data Portal hides all the groups and channels whose names do not start with the letters you enter.

If you enter characters, the Data Portal reduces the display of the groups or channels according to the filter condition you enter. At the same time the Data Portal offers a list from which you can select previous entries with the same initials.

You can combine group filters and channel filters. For example, if you enter the letter E in the line for the group filter and you enter the letter D in the line for the channel filter, the Data Portal displays only the groups with names starting with the letter E and, in these groups, only the channels with names starting with the letter D.

The filter is not case-sensitive. When you define filters, you can use the wildcard ? for one letter and the wildcard * for any number of letters. You also can connect individual filter conditions with OR. If you delete filter conditions, the current selection of elements in the Data Portal is lost.

If the filter is active when you cut, copy, or paste channel groups, or if you drag and drop the channel groups into a dialog box, DIAdem uses only the channels which the Data Portal displays.

Use pins in the Data Portal to always display specified groups and channels regardless of the enabled filters.

You cannot use filters in the list view of the Data Portal.
