DIAdem Basics

DIAdem is an interactive program for mathematical and visual data analysis and for creating technical reports. You can use DIAdem to automate repeating analyses. DIAdem supports a number of industrial standard file and database formats and enables you to import file formats you have created yourself. DIAdem can work with data files that contain over 100 billion values.

The DIAdem interface contains panels for performing different types of tasks:

The DIAdem NAVIGATOR panel gives you an overview of the data outside DIAdem. In DIAdem NAVIGATOR you search for data, load data selectively or completely into the Data Portal, register data, import data, and save data completely or selectively. Use the file browser to browse in the search areas of the enabled DataFinder. In the Search input area you enter the settings for a search and execute the search. The search result list of the DataFinder displays the results of a search. In the Property Display of a DataFinder you can view the properties of files, groups, and channels from the search tree and the search results.

You can use the DIAdem VIEW panel to display your channels as curves or as tables and you can add text, graphics, or videos to the displays.

Use the DIAdem ANALYSIS panel to analyze your data mathematically.

Use the DIAdem REPORT panel to display your data graphically or in tables.

Use the DIAdem DAC panel for measurement and for open and closed loop control.

Use the DIAdem VISUAL panel to visualize measured data or data that was calculated online.

Use the DIAdem SCRIPT panel to write and to edit scripts. You can generate scripts automatically by recording steps that you execute interactively in the recording mode. In the dialog editor you can generate your own dialog boxes, which you integrate into a script.

Use the examples and procedures in the DIAdem help to familiarize yourself with how DIAdem works and with the options DIAdem offers. The programming reference provides you with a thematic, alphabetical overview of the commands, variables, functions and the options available for object-oriented programming in DIAdem.
