Replacing an AUX DC 1200 Power Distribution Unit in the ATE-15U

Complete the following steps before beginning this repair procedure:
  1. Power off the ATE-15U by flipping the main disconnect branch breaker to off.
  2. If your ATE-15U utilizes a UPS to provide backup power, press the power button on the UPS to power it down.
  3. Disconnect the ATE-15U from facility power.

Equipment

  • 3 mm hex key
  • #1 Phillips head screwdriver, 1.30 N · m (11.5 in. · lb)
  • T10 Torx head screwdriver, 0.76 N · m (6.7 in. · lb)
  • 7 mm socket wrench, 1.30 N · m (11.5 in. · lb)
  1. Remove the ATE-15U left side panel using the 3 mm hex key.
  2. Locate the AUX DC 1200 power distribution unit (PDU).
  3. Remove the PDU from the DIN rail.
  4. Unscrew the three screws to remove the PDU from the DIN rail mounting bracket using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  5. Disconnect the AUX DC 1200 communication cable from the PDU.
  6. Unscrew the ring lugs of AUX DC 1200 output power cables connected to the brass M4 threaded terminals of the PDU using the #1 Phillips head screwdriver.

  7. Remove the inlet cover bracket from the PDU using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.

  8. Unscrew the AUX DC 1200 input power cable live (brown) and neutral (blue) wire ring lugs from the PDU using the #1 Phillips head screwdriver.
  9. Unscrew the AUX DC 1200 input power cable ground (green) wire ring lug from the PDU using the 7 mm socket wrench.

  10. Unscrew the ground cable ring lugs from the PDU using the #1 Phillips head screwdriver and the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  11. Screw in the ground cable ring lugs to the new AUX DC 1200 PDU using the #1 Phillips head screwdriver and the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  12. Screw in the AUX DC 1200 input power cable ground wire ring lug to the new PDU using the 7 mm socket wrench.
  13. Screw in the AUX DC 1200 input power cable live and neutral wire ring lugs to the new PDU using the #1 Phillips head screwdriver.
  14. Install the inlet cover bracket on the new PDU using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  15. Screw in the AUX DC 1200 output power cable ring lugs to the new PDU using the #1 Phillips head screwdriver.
  16. Reconnect the AUX DC 1200 communication cable to the new PDU.
  17. Screw in the three screws to install the DIN rail mounting bracket on the new PDU using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  18. Install the new PDU on the DIN rail.
  19. Reinstall the ATE-15U left side panel using the 3 mm hex key.
Once installation of the new AUX DC 1200 PDU is complete, you can reconnect facility power to the ATE-15U and power on the rack.
