Replacing a Connectorized Power Entry Panel

Complete the following steps before beginning this repair procedure:
  1. Power off the RMX-10101/10102 by flipping the main disconnect branch breaker to off.
  2. If your RMX-10101/10102 utilizes a UPS to provide backup power to Phase 1 powered components, press the power button on the UPS to power it down.
  3. Disconnect the RMX-10101/10102 from facility power.

Equipment

  • 3 mm hex wrench
  • T10 Torx head screwdriver, 0.76 N · m (6.7 lb. · in.)
  • #3 Phillips head screwdriver, 1.92 N · m (17.0 lb. · in.)
  • T25 Torx head screwdriver, 1.3 N · m (11.5 lb. · in.)

The diagrams in this section illustrate the RMX-10140-24S2 power entry panel (PEP). The same procedure applies for the RMX-10140-16S2 PEP, RMX-10140-16D2 PEP, and RMX-10140-16Y2 PEP.

  1. Disconnect the input power cable from the interface panel of the connectorized PEP.
  2. Remove the left side panel of the RMX-10101/10102 using the 3 mm hex wrench.
  3. Unscrew all retainer brackets securing the PDU power cables to the PEP using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  4. Unscrew the RCU I/O cable ring lug from the PEP using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  5. If necessary, unscrew the 3.3 V I2C cable ring lug from the PEP using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  6. Unplug all cables connected to the PEP.
  7. Unscrew the ground cable ring lug from the PEP by using the #3 Phillips head screwdriver.

  8. Unscrew the four screws securing the PEP to the rear of the RMX-10101/10102 using the T25 Torx head screwdriver.


  9. Remove the PEP from the RMX-10101/10102.
  10. Install the new connectorized PEP in the RMX-10101/10102 and screw in the four screws with the T25 Torx head screwdriver to secure the PEP to the RMX-10101/10102.
  11. Screw in the ground cable ring lug using the #3 Phillips head screwdriver.
  12. Connect all cables to the new PEP.
  13. If necessary, screw in the 3.3 V I2C cable ring lug to the new PEP using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  14. Screw in the RCU I/O cable ring lug to the new PEP using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  15. Screw in all retainer brackets to secure the PDU power cables to the new PEP using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
  16. Reinstall the left side panel of the RMX-10101/10102 using the 3 mm hex wrench.
  17. Connect the input power cable to the interface panel of the new PEP.
  18. If necessary, apply the label with the correct input voltage range on the interface panel of the new PEP.

Once installation of the new connectorized PEP is complete, you can reconnect facility power to the RMX-10101/10102 and power on the rack.
