What is NI Connect?

NI Connect is our annual event series where engineers and industry leaders from around the world come together to explore the latest in test and data analytics as well as innovative products and approaches that drive businesses forward. This premier, in-person event also provides opportunities for attendees to reconnect with peers and share ideas that help one another Engineer Ambitiously.™ 

 

What are the dates and locations of NI Connect?

This year we’re hosting NI Connect in Austin, Texas; Munich, Germany; and Shanghai, China, on the following dates.

  • Austin—May 24–25, 2022
  • Munich—Q4 2022 (Exact dates to be announced.) 
  • Shanghai—Q4 2022 (Exact dates to be announced.)

 

How is NI Connect 2022 different from last year?

NI Connect 2021 was completely digital. At this year’s conference, attendees will be able to connect in person while interacting with the latest in test, including innovative hardware, software, and other solutions.

 

Will there be a virtual component to NI Connect?

Yes. There is an option to livestream NI Connect Austin. Everyone will be able to livestream the keynotes for free. 

 

Will other portions of NI Connect be available digitally? 

At this time, only the keynotes during NI Connect Austin will be shared digitally. In-person attendees of NI Connect Austin will have access to the content after the event.  

 

Who should attend NI Connect?

Is NIWeek now known as NI Connect?

NIWeek was our long-standing annual conference held in Austin for more than 25 years. NI Connect builds on the best of what NIWeek had to offer while marking a new direction for future NI events as a whole. We’re excited to bring customers more hybrid events like NI Connect that blend in-person networking, access to advanced subject matter experts and livestreaming capabilities.   

 

Will this event include all of the same elements as previous NIWeek or NIDays events?

We’re reconfiguring some of the most popular elements from NIWeek and NIDays and streamlining some content for digital viewing.

  

Will customers have to pay to attend? 

Yes. There will be a registration fee to attend NI Connect. Pricing will be announced when registration opens in mid-February.

 

Will sessions be made available after the event?

The livestreamed keynotes from NI Connect Austin will be made available after the event. Sessions and workshops will not be available for livestream participants. 

 

What languages will the content be available in?

NI Connect Austin and NI Connect Munich will be available in English. NI Connect Shanghai will be available in Chinese.  

 

What health and safety protocols will be in place to attend?

NI is committed to the health and safety of our attendees, partners, and staff, and we want to ensure that we can all gather safely in person at NI Connect. We will share more details about our health and safety protocols in mid-February.

Where is the Austin Convention Center?

NI Connect Austin will be at the Austin Convention Center, 500 E. Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, TX 78701 

 

Will onsite parking be available?

The Austin Convention Center has two parking garages: Second Street Garage: 201 E. Second St., Austin, TX 78701 or the Fifth Street Garage: 601 E. Fifth St., Austin, TX 78701. Due to Covid-19, all customers must pay by credit card using the automated machines on exit.

1-3 Hours: $5.00
3-9 Hours: $10.00
9-12 Hours: $15.00

Overnight parking is not available

How do I obtain a travel visa to attend?

If you need an invitation to NI Connect to obtain a visa, please indicate this during the registration process. Visa letter requests will be processed on a weekly basis so plan accordingly.

Speakers

Will there be speaking opportunities at NI Connect?

There will not be an external “Call for Presentations” for NI Connect Austin.

 

I was selected to speak at NIWeek 2020. Will I be given a chance to speak at NI Connect 2022 automatically?

There is not an automatic transfer of all previously accepted sessions into the 2022 program. However, we’ll prioritize currently approved sessions when 2022 conference planning begins and contact you regarding next steps.

 

Can I have my complimentary registration rolled into NI Connect 2022?

Yes. If you were selected as an NIWeek 2020 speaker, we’re happy to provide you with a complimentary registration for NI Connect 2022.

COVID-19 Protocols

NI is committed to the health and safety of our attendees, partners, and staff and to safely gather at NI Connect Austin.   

 

Is proof of vaccination or a negative result required to attend the event?

NI and the Austin Convention Center have put preventative measures in place to stop the spread of COVID-19.  In order to participate at the conference, each attendee regardless of vaccination status, must provide a negative test result within 24-48 hours of checking in at NI Connect Austin. Attendees will be required to sign an attestation that they received a negative test result. This will be done onsite at the Austin Convention Center at the registration desk.

 

What type of Covid-19 testing is required?

All NI Connect attendees must test negative for COVID-19 up to two days prior to picking up your badge at Austin Convention Center. There is no specific requirement to the type of test. Any at-home or laboratory test is sufficient.

 

Attendees do not need to show proof of a negative test, but must sign a self-declaration attesting to their negative test results when picking up their badge.

 

What other preventative measures are in place at NI Connect?

Masks are optional. If you feel more comfortable wearing one, we will have masks available. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the convention center.

 

Per CDC guidelines, even if you test negative but were COVID positive in the last 10 days since your symptoms began, wearing a wear mask until day 10 is recommended.

 

Will testing be provided on-site? 

We will have emergency testing kits on-site if you are experiencing symptoms.

Yes. Should NI, city, state or venue health and safety requirements change, NI reserves the right to adjust the protocols for this event. Check this page often for the latest updates.

 

Terms and Conditions

Cancellation Policy 

Cancellations for paid registrations received in writing through May 13, 2022 are refundable, less a $25 processing fee.  No refunds will be issued for cancellations made or received after May 13, 2022.  If you do not cancel by May 13, 2022 and do not attend the event, you are still responsible for payment.  To cancel your registration, you must notify National Instruments (“NI”) in writing. You can reach us by sending an e-mail to ni.connect.team@ni.com.  Invitations to and registrations for NI Connect Austin are non-transferable.   

  

Conference content is subject to change. We reserve the right to decline registration where we see fit, before or during NI Connect Austin. If NI determines in its sole discretion that your registration must be declined, you will receive prompt notice of such declined registration via e-mail.  

  

NI Connect Austin and the conference content presented at the event is subject to change. In the event that NI Connect Austin cannot be held, is held with a reduced schedule or offerings, or is postponed due to circumstances beyond NI’s control or which are not attributable to NI’s wrongful intent or gross negligence, NI shall have no liability whatsoever for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, including, but not limited to, your transportation costs, accommodation costs, costs for additional orders, or any other financial losses related to your registration for or attendance at NI Connect Austin.  

Under these circumstances, we reserve the right in NI’s sole discretion to either retain the entire registration fee and to credit it for a future conference, or to reimburse you after deducting costs already incurred for the organization of the conference.  

  

Payment Terms 

Credit Cards ONLY (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX and Discover credit cards accepted). All payments must be made in USD.  
    

Online registration web pages will incorporate encryption software to provide protection of your credit card information and a secure site for the transmission of your data.   
 

Badges 

NI Connect Austin badges must be worn at all times when you are on the NI Connect Austin premises. Access to NI Connect Austin may be denied, in NI’s sole discretion, if you do not properly wear your NI Connect Austin badge.  There is a badge re-print fee of $50.    

  

Photo, Video, and Audio Recordings  

NI may take photographs or video recordings of the NI Connect event. By attending NI Connect, you permit NI (or those specifically appointed by NI, such as professional photographers) to make on-site recordings, recording you by any means including video, audio tape and photography, without any compensation of any kind to you. You further agree that NI shall own the copyright of these recordings. NI may use these recordings for promotional photos or videos displayed on NI Connect websites, or on NI’s internal and external online publications (including social media portals). NI may use third-party processors for recording footage, transforming content into a publishing format and for publishing. If you for any reason do not wish to be included in any on-site recordings, please inform the photographer or NI event staff on site. If you have any concerns that your personal data, including images of you have been misused or mishandled, or you would like to exercise your rights under the applicable privacy legislation, please send your written inquiry to privacy@ni.com.

Security and Safety  

We want everyone to be safe at NI Connect Austin. By attending NI Connect Austin, you understand we might randomly check bags or other personal belongings, and you agree to not leave any of these unattended at any time. You also agree that you won’t bring anything to NI Connect Austin that is illegal or could cause a safety hazard.  
 

All security concerns should be reported to NI Connect Austin staff immediately. Our security team may take whatever measures they deem appropriate without prior notice in order to ensure the safety of attendees at NI Connect Austin. You must comply with the direction of our security team, as well as all applicable rules and regulations of the venues where NI Connect Austin is held.  
 

NI and the Austin Convention Center have put preventive measures in place due to the spread of COVID-19.  However, attending NI Connect Austin could increase your risk of contracting the virus. By attending NI Connect Austin and entering the Austin Convention Center, you voluntarily assume all risks and agree you will not hold Austin Convention Center, NI or any of their respective affiliates, assigns, contractors or employees liable for any resulting injury or illness. Purchasing and maintaining any health insurance in relation to your attendance in and travel to and from NI Connect Austin will be your sole responsibility. By voluntarily attending NI Connect Austin, you authorize that all information provided to attend NI Connect Austin, including, but not limited to, your COVID-19 vaccination or testing data may be shared with NI's trained event staff and/or its trained vendors who are performing services in connection with confirming vaccination or testing data for the purpose of admission to NI Connect Austin. This data will be retained for so long as it is needed to fulfill the purpose.   

  

Compliance with Laws 

You agree that you will comply with all applicable laws, including, but not limited to, applicable trade sanctions and export controls laws. You represent that you are not subject to any U.S. or other applicable trade sanctions or export control laws that would prevent you from participating in NI Connect Austin. It is your sole responsibility to take care of your visa requirements to be able to travel to NI Connect Austin. In case you need an entry visa, you must allow sufficient time for the application procedure.   
 

Liability  

NI assumes no liability for loss, damage, or disappearance of any property, including computer equipment, software, and peripherals used by you or your personnel in connection with your participation in NI Connect Austin. You agree to assume sole risk of loss for your property and to waive any and all claims and hold NI harmless from and against any loss of, damage to, or disappearance of such property. NI shall in no event be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, exemplary, or consequential damages, or damages for loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, incurred by you, whether in an action in contract or tort, regardless if NI has been advised of the possibility of such damages. NI’s liability to you for all reasons and causes arising out of or related to your participation in or commitment to participate in NI Connect Austin is limited to an amount not greater than the registration fees you paid to NI. You acknowledge and agree that the NI Connect Austin premises are provided on an “as is” basis, NI does not make any representations or warranties regarding these premises, and NI shall not be liable for any preexisting conditions of the premises or conditions arising during your participation in NI Connect Austin.  

  

These Terms and Conditions   

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Exclusive jurisdiction for disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms and Conditions or your participation in NI Connect Austin will be vested in the state and federal courts in Travis County, Texas. Please be aware that we may update and change any part or all of these Terms and Conditions at any time without notifying you first. The updated terms will become effective and binding on the next business day after they are posted. When we change these terms, the "Last Modified" date above will be updated to reflect the date of the most recent version. We encourage you to review these terms periodically. If you don’t agree to these terms, please reconsider your attendance at NI Connect Austin.
