T_Dist

Advanced Analysis Library Only

AnalysisLibErrType T_Dist (double t, int degreesOfFreedom, double *probabilityT);

Purpose

Calculates the one-sided probability:

p = prob(T t)

where T is a random variable from the T-distribution with the specified degrees of freedom

Example

double t, p;
int n;
t = -123.456;
n = 6;
T_Dist (t, n, &p);

Parameters

Input
Name Type Description
t double-precision The point from which the probability is computed.

Range: –∞ < t < ∞
degreesOfFreedom integer Degrees of freedom for the T-distribution.
Output
Name Type Description
probabilityT double-precision The unique number t such that prob(T < t) = p, where T is a random variable from a T-distribution with the specified degrees of freedom.

Return Value

Name Type Description
status AnalysisLibErrType A value that specifies the type of error that occurred. Refer to analysis.h for definitions of these constants.
