Process Summary
Note: Before you build your LabVIEW model, you need to ensure that the connector pane of your VI is properly configured. When you import the model into NI VeriStand, terminals specified as required inputs are model inports, and recommended and optional inputs are specified as parameters. Outputs are always specified as outports.
- To build a simulation model using the LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module, select Tools»NI VeriStand»Generate NI VeriStand Model from VI.
- When the dialog box appears, select the desired destination path for your LabVIEW model.
- Click the Next button. In this dialog box, choose an ODE solver. You can also specify a model loop rate by choosing the step period.
- Click the Build button, and LabVIEW builds the model file.
- Once the build process is complete, click Finish. Your LabVIEW model is now ready for use.
Using the Model DLL
You can now import the LabVIEW model into your System Definition just as you would any other model. The NI VeriStand Help and the NI VeriStand instructional video contain more information about importing models into the System Definition.
Required Software
To build simulation models for NI VeriStand, you must have both NI VeriStand, LabVIEW, the LabVIEW Application Builder, and NI VeriStand LabVIEW Model Support installed on your computer. NI VeriStand LabVIEW Model Support is an optional software that you can install during NI VeriStand installation.
To be able to specify an ODE solver and model loop rate, you must also have the LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module installed.
