1. Why Get Certified?

The survey results indicated that there is significant perceived value in the LabVIEW certification program. More than 50 percent of respondents reported one of the following reasons for getting certified:

2. Certification: Within Reach

The certification process is also a time of professional development, which takes advantage of past experience while requiring some additional study. CLDs typically have 9–12 months of experience focused on programming medium to large LabVIEW applications during 70–80 percent of their time. With that level of experience, the level of study needed to pass the exam is achievable. The vast majority of respondents said that less than 25 percent of the information they had to study was new to them (Figure 2).

In addition, the new material studied to prepare for the exam is often useful for future projects. Nearly 90 percent of active CLD customers indicated that the new content they learned for the exam was at least somewhat relevant to how they use or could use LabVIEW in their job.

Finally, in preparing for the exam, most customers found the following materials helpful:

LabVIEW Core 1, 2, and 3 training is an excellent preparation for the CLD exam, and comes with a success guarantee. You can take LabVIEW Core training online, in a regional or on-site course, or using self-paced materials.
