Overview

The provided zip file allows users to create EPICS Client I/O Servers in LabVIEW 2010 without installing the LabVIEW DSC or Real-Time Modules. Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) is a software architecture for building distributed control systems to operate devices such as particle accelerators, telescopes, and other large experiments. With the EPICS client in LabVIEW, you can connect to an EPICS IOC to read and write from process variables.

Installation Instructions

To install EPICS I/O Server support for LabVIEW 2010 without the Datalogging and Supervisory Control Module, or Real-Time Module follow the steps below.  Make sure to exit LabVIEW before following these steps.

  1. Extract the epicsioserver2010.zip file to a location on your hard drive.
  2. Run the (1)NI_IO_Server_Provider_2010\LVRT_IOSrvPvdr_2010.msi installer.
  3. Run the (2)EPICSIOServer\EPICSSrvr.msi installer.
  4. Run the (3)EPICSIOServer_Base\epics_base.msi installer.
  5. Run the (4)EPICS_LVSupp_1000\EPICSLVSupp1000.msi installer.
