Overview

As part of their life cycle policy, Microsoft is ending support for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2003 operating systems. Mainstream support of Windows XP ended in April 2009; however, extended support is available through April 2014. This white paper outlines both desktop and PXI applications and the plan for National Instruments’ product life cycle management.

Software

National Instruments software support for Windows XP/Vista/Server 2003 will continue through July 1, 2016. This applies to all software platforms, application software, and drivers except for LabWindows/CVI which will drop support for Windows XP/Vista/Server 2003 as of July 1, 2015. This means that all software packages released by National Instruments up to that date will be compatible with the above operating systems. Full technical support for these National Instruments software packages will follow the standard support life cycle of four years.
