TestStand Life Cycle Policy

Through the TestStand Life Cycle Policy, you can access guidelines for better understanding and use of your NI product investment. This policy should help you answer common questions, such as When should I upgrade? Which TestStand versions are supported? What support should I expect for TestStand versions? In addition, the TestStand Life Cycle Policy helps you plan migrations and maximize your resources.

2 LabVIEW 8.0.1 has a shorter mainstream support phase and is not supported by releases after TestStand 4.1.1.

A version of TestStand supports any versions of LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI that are in Current Release Support and Mainstream Support when the version of TestStand is launched. Additionally, each version of TestStand also typically supports versions of LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI that are released while the version of TestStand is still in Current Release Support or Mainstream Support. If a maintenance release is available for a version of LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI, TestStand will support only the maintenance release. Please reference each product’s maintenance policy for information on the policy for patching issues.

3 TestStand also supports Windows XP Pro for Embedded Systems, the version of Windows XP that Microsoft continues to support for use in embedded systems.

4 TestStand is a 32-bit application that is compatible with Windows Vista x64 and the other 64-bit OSs listed above through Windows on Windows (WoW) 64.

5 TestStand will drop support for Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2003 as of July 1, 2016. Versions of TestStand that are shipped after July 1, 2016 will not install or run on Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003.
