NI TestStand Life Cycle Policy

Through the NI TestStand Life Cycle Policy, you can access guidelines for better understanding and use of your NI product investment. This policy should help you answer common questions, such as When should I upgrade? What NI TestStand versions are supported? What support should I expect for NI TestStand versions? and so on. In addition, the NI TestStand Life Cycle Policy helps you plan migrations and maximize your resources.

2 LabVIEW 8.0.1 has a shorter mainstream support phase and is not supported by releases after NI TestStand 4.1.1.


A version of NI TestStand supports any versions of LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI that are in the Current Release Support and Mainstream Support when the version of NI TestStand is launched. If a maintenance release is available for a version of LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI, NI TestStand will only support the maintenance release. Please reference each product's maintenance policy for information on the policy for patching issues.

3 NI TestStand also supports Windows XP Pro for Embedded Systems, the version of Windows XP that Microsoft continues to support for use in embedded systems.

4 NI TestStand is a 32-bit application that is compatible with Windows Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64 through Windows on Windows (WoW) 64.
