Begin building your NI Switch Executive application by expanding the Devices and Interfaces tab under My System in Measurement & Automation Explorer and right-clicking on NI Switch Executive Virtual Devices and selecting Create New NI Switch Executive Virtual Device. On the window that appears, name the virtual device and choose Create New Configuration or Import Configuration from File. Use the Import Configuration from File option if the device was created and configured at another location and you can locate the configuration file. You can pick the appropriate configuration file by browsing to it. NI Switch Executive configuration files have a .xml extension.
