Windows NT PCMCIA InstallationThe native Windows NT PCMCIA driver does not support the PCMCIA adapter that is used in the following VXI controllers:
The native Windows NT PCMCIA driver also only supports the PCMCIA adapter in the VXIpc-870 under special circumstances. National Instruments recommends purchasing PCMCIA Card Services software for Windows NT from SystemSoft, Unicore, or another third party in order to use PCMCIA devices in Windows NT. Note: Most National Instruments PCMCIA cards are only supported via the native Windows NT PCMCIA drivers and cannot be used with third party card services software. The following PCMCIA products are not supported with third party Card Services software packages.
Cards Not Supported in Windows NT with Third Party PCMCIA Card Services
National Instruments recommends that you use a plug and play operating system, such as Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows 2000 in order to use these cards in a VXI controller. It should also be noted that Windows NT is not a plug a play operating system and will not automatically assign resources to your PCMCIA devices. You will need to manually configure the resources associated with your PCMCIA devices. Windows NT also does not support the use of PCMCIA devices that require 2 base address resources (e.g. PCMCIA-GPIB+). Your PCMCIA Card Services software documentation and/or PCMCIA card documentation will contain more information on installing and configuring your PCMCIA devices. |
