A VXI/VME bus analyzer or high-speed logic analyzer are extremely valuable tools for troubleshooting VXI/VME problems. Using a bus analyzer requires a strong understanding of the VXI/VME specifications and this is a topic that is beyond the scope of this document.

IEEE 1155 documents the VXI bus specification and IEEE 1024 documents the VME bus specification.
