Description and Solution

  • The address string that you gave (usually a GPIB address) has no listeners at that address.
  • Check your instrument again for its address. Then check to make sure that you passed that into VISA Open. (In all likelihood, you passed a different address number). For example, the string that goes into VISA Open may say "GPIB::4", but your instrument is really connected to address 8 ("GPIB::8").
