Description and Solution

• This error most often occurs when you try to open a VISA Session to a resource that already has been opened. (In serial communication, this is not allowed, and subsequently causes this error). Be sure to close all sessions in your code. To close the visa session,
  
  1) Put the VISA Close.vi on a new block diagram
  2) create a control to be the VISA Session (image showing block diagram is below)
  
  
  3) go to the front panel and right-click on the VISA Session
  4) at the bottom of the menu, you should see Open Sessions
  5) choose the correct Open Session (image below demonstrates)
  
  
  6) run the VI; the session will be closed.
  7) You may need to run this multiple times.
