Checking for an Existing Driver Version

How do I check for an existing driver version on my computer?
If you have installed National Instruments software on your computer previously, then you may already have a version of the driver installed on your computer. There are two ways to determine if you have a version of the driver installed on your computer:

Use the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX):

If you are using MAX 1.x:

  1. Launch the Measurement & Automation Explorer and go to Help » About Measurement & Automation Explorer.

  2. Click the System Info button (if necessary) and select the Software tab. All of the currently installed National Instruments software that supports the Measurement & Automation Explorer will be listed here.

If you are using MAX 2.x:

  1. Launch the Measurement & Automation Explorer.

  2. Expand the Software heading. All of the currently installed National Instruments software that supports the Measurement & Automation Explorer will be listed here, as shown below:

Use Add/Remove Programs:

  1. Go to Start » Settings » Control Panel » Add/Remove Programs.

  2. If you have a driver installed, then you should see it listed in the Add/Remove Programs Properties window, as shown below. If you have LabVIEW 6.0 installed on the computer, then the driver for your hardware may be installed with it. See KnowledgeBase 20TD9EHE, which describes how to determine if the driver for your hardware is installed with LabVIEW 6.0.
