GPIB Installation/Configuration Troubleshooter
GPIB-ENET Installation and Configuration under Windows 98/95
- Be sure that you installed the GPIB-ENET on the network on the same subnet as your computer and connected the power cable.
- Do you have an available IP address?
- Go to Start » Programs » National Instruments » NI-488.2 and run the Add GPIB Hardware Wizard.
- In the Add GPIB Hardware Wizard select GPIB-ENET, as shown below:

- Click Next. This will build a driver database and add the GPIB-ENET to your system.
When this is done, click Finish.
- Open the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). When MAX is loaded, refresh by going to View » Refresh, or by pressing F5. This will force MAX to look for any new hardware that you have installed, so that your GPIB-ENET will appear in the Devices and Interfaces folder.
- Expand the Devices and Interfaces folder and select your GPIB-ENET controller from the list of hardware.
- At this point you may assign an IP address to your GPIB-ENET or you may setup a connection to a GPIB-ENET that already has an IP address.
- You are now ready to connect instruments to the GPIB-ENET and communicate with them. See the Introduction to the Interactive Control (IBIC) page for more information.
