DIAdem Support

Supported Interfaces

This list provides information about the communication interfaces supported by DIAdem.

Type Details
DDE Dynamic Data Exchange means that online communication with hardware and data exchange with other applications is possible by using the Windows-DDE interface.
GPI General Programming Interface: An open driver interface in DIAdem allows to integrate hardware developed by the customer or hardware that is not supported in DIAdem as a standard. The drivers are programmed in the form of a Windows-DLL. Example drivers for DIAdem 4 (16 Bit) and DIAdem 6 (32 Bit) are included in the delivery of each DIAdem CD (Interface: Pascal / Delphi / C / C++).
ODBC-SQL A number of autosequences are provided for connecting to databases for which ODBC-drivers are available. They can access all databases that have been registered as a data source via the ODBC-Administrator that is included in Microsoft Windows-95/98/NT4.0.
OLE The DIAdem-OLE interface provides the applications programmer with two "Dispatch interfaces." These interfaces can be addressed via Visual-Basic, Visual-Basic for Applications, Visual-Basic-Script and C++.

The first Interface contains all the methods for controlling DIAdem commands as well as access to individual variables. The second interface facilitates fast and comfortable access to the DIAdem data matrix.

With the autosequence commands for the OLE interface, a DIAdem on another computer can be remote-controlled from within an autosequence.

OPC OLE for Process Control describes how to use standard protocols under Win 95, 98 and Win NT 4.0 in the area of process automation. Click here for an overview of the OPC servers which have been tested with DIAdem 6 as client.
