NI Volume License Program OverviewSmall groups, sites, or organizations with five or more licenses of an application software package can take advantage of the Volume License Program. The table below provides a summary of the program benefits.
Asset ManagementAsset management is a practice that refers to the ability to track and manage your software licenses. Properly tracking and managing your licenses saves your company money. For example, if someone with a license stops using the software, the license does not get lost. You can easily transfer that license to a new user. If asset management had not been used and the license was lost, a new license would need to be purchased for a new user. You also ensure that you are staying in compliance with NI software policies by using an asset management tool. NI Volume License Manager (NI VLM) is a free utility provided to Volume License Program members and is the recommended tool for asset management of NI software. NI VLM is developed specifically to manage NI licenses and includes many features aimed at simplifying asset management, such as volume license installers, overdraft, and disconnected licenses. Learn more about asset management Simplified PurchasingThe Volume License Program simplifies purchasing because all licenses in your NI Volume License Agreement (NI VLA) have the same renewal date. Your company has to think about renewals only once a year and you have the option to submit a single purchase order for all your licenses. You even have the option of waiting until your renewal date to pay for additional licenses used during the previous year. This helps your company avoid the expensive and time-consuming process of creating multiple purchase orders throughout the year. Standard ServiceThe Volume License Program gives you access to all standard service benefits that come with the Standard Service Program (SSP). Stay up to date on the latest technology improvements by automatically receiving software updates and maintenance releases; reduce your application development time with direct access to technical support from NI applications engineers; access special online, on-demand software training modules; and learn more about features, application uses, and development best practices. This facilitates a community of Volume License Program members who support and assist each other with application development. To develop and grow the community, create a core group of individuals that stays informed about products and technologies. Activities to grow a workplace user community include user groups, product training, and technical seminars. Training OptionsResearch on NI Training shows that trained users learn 66 percent faster, develop applications 50 percent faster, and spend 43 percent less time on maintenance. You can choose from many different training options. On-site courses deliver the classroom learning experience to your company’s facilities. They not only eliminate travel and hotel expenses, but they also give you the opportunity to modify courses for your company’s specific needs. NI also offers courses taught at regional facilities and online. NI provides different options for purchasing training based on your company’s needs. Training credits provide flexibility in deciding who participates in the training and when. The NI Training and Certification Membership program ensures maximum skill development by providing individuals with unlimited access to NI courses and certifications for one year.
