Clicking the Abort Button Does Not Stop a LabVIEW VI Performing an XNET Read

The Abort Execution button in LabVIEW does not immediately halt data transfer or stop the VI. Instead, the following behavior can be observed, depending on NI-XNET version:

XNET 20.0:
  • Abort does not immediately halt data transfer; the transfer may stop eventually.
  • Disconnecting and reconnecting the device allows the VI to stop, but leaves the device unusable until LabVIEW is restarted.
XNET 20.1:
  • Abort does not halt data transfer or stop the VI.
  • Disconnecting and reconnecting the device does not stop the VI.
  • Closing LabVIEW reports a DWarn due to a crash in an external DLL.

Workaround:

There is currently no known workaround for this issue.

Installing NI-XNET or NI VeriStand on Windows Fails Due to Security Restrictions

NI-XNET or NI VeriStand installation can fail on Windows when group policy prevents NI services from starting. Log on as a service and Deny log on as a service group policy settings restrict which accounts are allowed to be used with services. NI installation software creates accounts with limited access to run NI services. If policy settings prevent NI services from starting, installation will fail. Remove the restrictions to complete installation.

Workaround:

There is currently no known workaround for this issue.
