1. Introduction

The following table provides the LabVIEW Real-Time Module and LabWindows/CVI Real-Time Module versions supported by each PXI controller. The PXI controllers are organized by operating system.

Some PXI controllers are available in both NI Linux Real-Time and Phar Lap ETS. Reference the tables below to ensure you install the correct version of Real-Time Module for your controller’s operating system, as it may require a different Real-Time Module version.

Certain Phar Lap ETS PXI controllers support Real-Time Module versions that require Target Software CDs to install support. The Real-Time Module version is noted in the “Earliest Version Supported (with Target CD)” column with the version of the Target Software CD required in the “Target CD Version” column.

The earliest Real-Time Module version that is supported by the controller without the Target Software CD is noted in the “Earliest Version Supported (without Target CD)” column.

To obtain a Target Software CD, please contact NI Support.

* You must enable the W2 hardware jumper to upgrade the Real-Time software on an NI PXI-814x Real-Time controller.

Note: PXI-8174 is not supported since it does not have Real-Time safe mode, and there is no way to install it onto the controller without a floppy drive
