Multisim Live Known Issues

Overview

This document contains the Multisim Live known issues that were discovered before and since the release of Multisim Live. Known issues are performance issues or technical bugs that NI has acknowledged exist within this version of the product.

 

Not every issue known to NI appears on this list; it is intended to show the most severe and common issues that you may encounter and provide workarounds when possible. Other technical issues that you may encounter could occur through normal product use or system compatibility issues. You may find more information on these issues in NI’s Product Documentation, Knowledgebase, or Community.

Dragging a component from top level of palette frequently triggers back navigation actioniOSThis is an iOS feature to allow global navigation gestures. As a workaround, you can drag from the palette when the left panel is open, or drag place components from the far right side of the palette.
Memory issues when running simulation on Firefox on lower performance devicesFirefoxOn devices with limited memory, you may experience out of memory errors while using Firefox. We recommend that you use the latest version of Chrome to best experience Multisim Live.
Saving designs on Edge may take longer than ChromeEdgeThis is an Edge browser limitation that causes slow performance when saving designs. We recommend that you use the latest version of Chrome to best experience Multisim Live.
When navigating away from the Multisim Live workspace using the browser navigation controls, the leave page pop-up alert message does not appear, causing loss of unsaved dataiOSDue to mobile Safari restrictions, no confirmation dialog is displayed when leaving the Multisim Live workspace when using the browser naviation controls, causing any unsaved data to be lost. We recommend that you save your work frequently to mitigate this issue.
Difficult to start wiring with tap gesturesEdge on touch-enabled devicesAs a workaround, you can use a mouse with your device. We also recommend that you use the latest version of Chrome to best experience Multisim Live.
Save to disk operations don't work correctlyiOS: Safari, ChromeOn Safari on iOS, saving schematic image is not responsive. On Chrome, all export and download options do not work correctly.
Ctrl + Click does not add schematic objects to multi-selectionFirefox on Mac OSAs a workaround, long-click then drag a selection box around multiple objects. We recommend that you use the latest version of Chrome to best experience Multisim Live.
Missing full screen buttoniOSiOS does not allow full screen support. As a workaround you can add the wepbage to the iOS homescreen and view it full-screen from there.
Slight differences in rounding on Edge when dealing with numbers of 6 or more digits of precision.EdgeThis is a known issue with Edge browser. We recommend that you use the latest version of Chrome to best experience Multisim Live.
When editing text fields, the Ctrl+S shortcut opens the browser save dialog instead of saving the circuitAnyThis is a general limitation of browser text editing controls. As a workaround, use the save shortcut before or after editing text, or use the Save command from the navigation menu.

  • Bug ID - When an issue is reported to NI, you may be given this ID or find it on ni.com.  You may also find IDs posted by NI on the discussion forums or in KnowledgeBase articles.
  • Legacy ID – An older issue ID that refers to the same issue.  You may instead find this issue ID in older known issues documents.
  • Description - A few sentences which describe the problem. The brief description given does not necessarily describe the problem in full detail.
  • Workaround - Possible ways to work around the problem.
  • Reported Version - The earliest version in which the issue was reported.
  • Resolved Version - Version in which the issue was resolved or was no longer applicable. "N/A" indicates that the issue has not been resolved.
  • Date Added - The date the issue was added to the document (not the reported date).
