OPC Device Connectivity

National Instruments has OPC Server software that is capable of communicating with a large number of PLCs, RTUs, and other industrial hardware. The software handles communication with the hardware and exposes every register or channel within the hardware as an OPC data item. These drivers were developed with 32-bit addressing for Windows 9x\NT\2000\ME\XP operating systems.

There are several different packages that can use the OPC Server software:

LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio
These National Instruments software packages feature an OPC client. Use DataSocket functions to read and write to these OPC data items.

LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module
The DSC Module is the ideal tool for your distributed monitoring applications and features an OPC server. Use the configuration-based Tag Engine to read and write to these OPC data items.
