LabVIEW FPGA Used in MEMS Control Research
Using the NI LabVIEW FPGA Module and the NI PXI 7831R module, Professor Thomas Kurfess and Professor Levent Degertekin, from the Georgia Institute of Technology George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, implemented parallel, extremely high-speed control of an array of Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) devices.

NI CompactRIO Measures Magnetization Characteristics
Using NI LabVIEW 7.1 and several CompactRIO modules, Virginia Tech developed a double salient machine with highly nonlinear characteristics to measure and eliminate the eddy current losses and resistance changes due to heating and measurement of the magnetization characteristics of the switched reluctance (SR) motor.
