Legacy Environments and Languages

Presently, the following environments and languages are considered as legacy:

• Visual Studio 6.0—all languages: Visual Basic 6.0 and Visual C++ 6.0
• Visual Studio 2003—all languages: Visual C++ MFC, Visual C#, and Visual Basic .NET
• Visual Studio 2008/2005—only Visual C++ MFC

 

Measurement Studio Support Policy for Legacy Environments and Languages

While Measurement Studio support for Visual Studio 6.0, Visual Studio 2003, and Visual C++ MFC are considered legacy, NI understands your application development may require this technology.

Thus legacy Measurement Studio products are available upon request for qualifying Measurement Studio customers. Requests are handled differently depending on which environment or language is required. Please use the guidelines below to proceed with your request.

Qualifying Customers

To qualify to receive Measurement Studio for Legacy Environments/Languages, you must meet either of the following criteria:

• You must maintain an active Measurement Studio Standard Service Program contract; or
• You must purchase the most recent version of Measurement Studio.

 

How Do I Request Measurement Studio for Legacy Environments/Languages?

Contact an NI technical sales representative and provide your Measurement Studio serial number. The Measurement Studio for Legacy Environments/Languages software DVD is mailed to the address you provide. This package includes Measurement Studio libraries for all legacy environments and languages listed above.

Where Can I Go for Technical Support?

Measurement Studio for Legacy Environments/Languages provides technical support under the same guidelines set by the life cycle policy for Measurement Studio 2009. This means that access to online and technical support programs is available until December 2013.

 

How Do I Request Measurement Studio C++ MFC Support for Visual Studio 2010 and Later?

This product contains Measurement Studio Visual C++ MFC 10.0 support. You can use this product to create new Measurement Studio Visual C++ MFC projects in Visual Studio 2010, or update your existing Measurement Studio Visual C++ MFC projects for use with Visual Studio 2010.

If you require Measurement Studio Visual C++ MFC legacy support for Visual Studio 2010, please send the following information to mfcsupport@ni.com:

• Your purchaser name
• Your serial number for Measurement Studio 2010 (or NI Developer Suite)

Once NI validates your eligibility, you will receive instructions on how to download and install Measurement Studio C++ MFC Legacy Support R2 for Visual Studio.
