LabVIEW Annual Releases
Since 2006, National Instruments has annually released a new version of LabVIEW each August to establish a more predictable release schedule. This gives LabVIEW users the ability to better plan new developments and upgrades to future releases. In addition, in 2009, NI changed the product name to LabVIEW + year (for example, LabVIEW 2009) reflecting the year of the release and setting the stage for future annual releases of LabVIEW.
LabVIEW Life Cycle Policy Phases
The LabVIEW Life Cycle Policy encompasses three phases with varying support levels and timelines.
LabVIEW Life Cycle Policy
1 See specific details on hardware support and drivers on the Drivers and Updates Page. Modules and toolkits are version-specific; see LabVIEW Module and Toolkit Compatibility Information for more details. Device driver distributions are tested on the most current version of the specific LabVIEW release (for example, the most current version for LabVIEW 8.2.x and for LabVIEW 8.5.x are 8.2.1 and 8.5.1, respectively)
2 Available only through long-term service contract
