The Physics Laboratory Assistant helps student design their own experiments.
The Physics Laboratory Assistant is a software add-on for LabVIEW designed for students that works with any NI-DAQmx-based hardware including myDAQ Student Data Acquisition Device and NI Engineering Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite (NI ELVIS) devices. The add-on supports analog input-based sensors and PASCO Scientific motion sensors for measuring position. With this add-on, students can design an experiment by defining a series of waveforms from sensor measurements and post-acquisition calculations. Students can measure waveforms acquired and perform calculations on selected regions of waveforms. Students can also perform repeated trials to test different experimental parameters. The Physics Laboratory Assistant supports saving data in tab-delimited text, Microsoft Excel, and Igor Pro formats.
