Duncan Hudson

Chief Platform Officer

As chief platform officer, Duncan Hudson guides the evolution of NI’s open, software-centric platform. This platform accelerates the development and productivity of test, measurement, and control systems by combining productive software, modular hardware, and an expansive ecosystem.

 

Hudson designed and led a variety of innovations in LabVIEW and holds 16 patents associated with LabVIEW technology. Major industry publications have recognized him with more than 100 national and international awards over the past 20 years, including the 2011 Edith and Peter O’Donnell Award in Technology Innovation from The Academy of Medicine, Engineering, and Science of Texas (TAMEST).

 

Hudson is passionate about advancing the state of engineering and science by creating tools that make engineers and scientists more productive, which led him to switch his studies from chemistry to computer science. He found the perfect fit at NI in supporting the company’s mission to equip engineers and scientists with systems that accelerate productivity, innovation, and discovery. Hudson is inspired when he hears about rapid engineering and scientific advancements, especially when NI’s contributions power those advancements.

 

Hudson holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in computer science from The University of Texas at Austin, where he focused on parallel computing. He also serves on the school’s computer science and electrical and computer engineering advisory boards.
